Whisk (Chasen) 茶筅

The chasen's delicate bamboo creates the signature frothy foam that transforms matcha into a silky cup. This whisk is handcrafted from springy bamboo, allowing for quick and smooth whisking whether you're preparing koicha, usucha, or a creamy matcha latte.

The Chasen is perfect for daily use. Before whisking, soak it in hot water for 1–2 minutes to soften the bamboo. After use, rinse gently in water (no soap) and dry completely in open air. Store on a whisk stand to maintain its shape. Alternatively, store standing. Avoid storing in a case; moisture can cause mold.

Bamboo naturally develops character over time. Small cracks in the handle are normal and won't affect performance. Replace when the tips become broken. Use only with water and matcha. For lattes, add milk after whisking.
