OUR ROOTS
Our story begins with deep roots in Japan, where generations of the Tajima family cultivated wisdom around tea. When mom Yukiko brought this ancestral knowledge to Maui, Shane and Sera grew up surrounded by both island aloha and Japanese tradition. Sera pursued kung fu — learning the same principles that define tea ceremony: mindfulness, precision, and respect. From Sera's studies in Kyoto to her Shaolin temple training in Europe, from her healing journey through traditional chinese medicine to sharing tea with Shaolin monks, every experience deepened the family's understanding. Together, they opened Tajima Botanica to help others reconnect to themselves through the sacred daily ritual of tea.
